Paul Oakenfold and Fox to bring the first TV-broadcasted EDM awards show to the US

Electronic music will be formally recognized as a standalone force in April with the television debut of the premier Electronic Music Awards & Foundation (EMAF) on Fox. The new venture is a collaborative effort between the TV station and longtime dance music legend Paul Oakenfold, who is helping produce the show.

Akin to the Grammys, the debut EMAF show will take place as a live, red carpet event first on April 14, where key players from all facets of the electronic industry will be in attendance. The show will also feature interludes with live performances in-between awards presentations. Russell Thomas, known for his work producing MTV’s EMA Awards, will be directing the affair.

The event will be aired on Fox news from 8pm-9pm on April 23.
