Skrillex and Must Die! made a new track for all of the ‘VIPs’ out there’

Recently, Skrillex took to Facebook to preview a new tune with fellow bass veteran and longtime OWSLA figure Must Die! The quick preview revealed an unexpected twist as the pair of dubsteppers opted for a more house-ready arrangement. Now with the tune’s official release as part of OWSLA’s Worldwide Broadcast compilation series, we find yet another twist with a mean-mugging half-time break down sandwiched between two hypnotic sections.

“VIPs” is a thrashing house-tempo thrill ride that finds both Skrillex and Must Die! flexing a creative production muscle, offering up a dance cut that would send most clubs into frenzied fits of mayhem. Similar to the Sam Drew-assisted “Stranger,” Skrill’s latest house offering “VIPs” substitutes romance for hedonistic howling, chopping up a simple vocal selection over winding, whistling synth work.

At the end of a long string of releases this month, Skrillex and Must Die! have capped off the final track on OWSLA’s Worldwide Broadcast with a nasty little shoutout to all the “VIPs in the back.”
