While Skrillex’s latest release didn’t arrive with the online ferocity and anticipation as his “Red Lips” remix or previous industry-defining collaborations, a new interpretation emerged that benefited a handful of charities. What possibly could have been the inspiration for Milan, Italy-based producer Kharfi, the European upstart has set his sights on the original mix which first landed on Skrillex’s 2014 album, “Recess.” The vocals are left largely intact, before a soft and minimal bassline emerges which is quickly joined by quick, striking synths. A remix that’s been gaining steam online, Kharfi’s newest free download puts a unique spin on an original mix that was just re-invented by the genre’s largest name.
