Armin van Buuren – Heading Up High (Original Mix)

Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Armin van Buuren has a new single out. Straight off his full-length studio album, Embrace, “Heading Up High” features Dutch rock band Kensington. “I wanted to create a song that was just totally unexpected and I’d been drawn to the sound of Kensington for some time,” said Van Buuren on working with the band. “We really vibed well together and I think my long-time dance music fans may be surprised by some elements of this song. It just really soars and I get a great reaction whenever I play it out! It’s got the feel of worlds coming together.”

Infectious and high-energy, “Heading Up High” is yet another example of Embrace’s genre-fluidity. Loaded with uplifting piano chords, call-to-arms percussion, dramatic breakdowns and Kensington frontman Eloi Youssef’s strong, gravelly voice, the tune starts off like a ballad before unexpectedly exploding into a fast-paced mover reminiscent of dance music’s rave days. But it doesn’t stop there – listen long enough and Van Buuren will take you on a ride across fierce bass drops and big room synths. Overall, “Heading Up High” is a roller coaster across intense highs and lows that’ll leave you hanging on for more.
