Dillon Francis releases ‘techbaton’ remix of Tiësto and Oliver Heldens’ ‘The Right Song’

When Dutch producers Tiësto and Oliver Heldens teamed up for “The Right Song,” the track’s success was all but guaranteed. Now, the track has received the remix treatment from Basement Jaxx, Mike Williams, Tom Zanetti & KO Kane, and, most notably, Dillon Francis.

To create the right remix for “The Right Song,” Dillon has made substantial changes to the original. Francis maintains the radio-friendly hook, using Natalie La Rose’s vocals used to kick off the track. With a tempo slowed significantly down from house to moombahton — or “techbaton,” as he’s deemed it — the Los Angeles native drops the pop sensibilities of the original and adds significant grittiness at its drop. A buzzsaw bass and hard, percussive plucks provide the bones of the remix as a standard kick pattern perennially pumps throughout its course.

In a calculated move the these remixes were released today, the first day of Ultra. Those attending the festival or watching its live stream will very likely be hearing these throughout the weekend. For the impatient, all four remixes are available to listen below.
