Martin Garrix drops 10 brand-new songs during his career-defining Ultra closing set
Miami Music Week, in conjunction with Ultra Music Festival, is heralded as dance music’s cornerstone event in North America. As hundreds of influential artists across multiple genres flood the city in mid-March, the entire world watches their performances in anticipation of hearing what’s to come throughout the rest of the year.
A now-seasoned Martin Garrix took advantage of his first-ever headlining position at Ultra, and made due on his earlier promise to fans to premiere 8-9 new tracks during his set, including a re-work of his Ed Sheeran collaboration “Rewind, Repeated,” and a new venture with Avicii.
Garrix also demonstrated his versatility during his set, opting to throw in a few house tracks sans a big room kick, a French techno-inspired ID, and a bassier piece with Bebe Rexha. It seems separation from Spinnin’ has done nothing but good for the artist as he prepares for his debut artist album release on Sony.
