Kaskade & CID – Us (The Geek X Vrv Remix)
Veteran producer Kaskade‘s ninth studio album Automatic featured even more collaborative efforts than solo works, with certain tracks like “Us” seemingly designed for further reinterpretation through remix bundles. The joint effort with CID has now received a mellow rework from Parisian producers The Geek and Vrv, emphasizing and building upon the track’s indie-electronic influences.
The vocal is modulated and spliced between piano chords and guitar riffs, creating a new melody barely reminiscent of the original. The downtempo remix, like the producers’ official remix of Odesza’s “Say My Name,” retains the core of the the track while giving it an entirely reimagined outer framework.
