Good Morning Mix: Lane 8 – Spring 2016 Mixtape

Lane 8 is coming into his own as an artist, blazing deeper into the underground while still maintaining his expertise on threading together enchanting melodies. His slow transition to techier areas of music has most recently been realized through his foray onto Suara with his Midnight EP.

Lane 8 continues this streak with his “Spring 2016 Mixtape,” where he’s presented his favorite tracks, with some throwbacks including Modeselektor’s anthem “The White Flash” with Thom Yorke. The vast majority of the mix takes on a sound quality similar to European underground imprints Life & Death or Steyoyoke, following a path through melodic pieces that mix together progressive and techno elements. The entirety of the 90 minute duration is utterly entrancing and builds even further excitement as to what the American talent has planned for upcoming releases.

Lane 8 will be in San Diego this weekend for a performance from CRSSD Fest.
