Steve Aoki enlists the help of Blink 182 for upcoming album

Producer and cake-catapulting enthusiast Steve Aoki is hard at work on his fourth album, Neon Future III, and he’s enlisted pop punk legends Blink 182 on a collaboration. Aoki tweeted an image of himself in the studio with Travis Bark and Mark Hoppus — along with John Feldmann, an executive producer on Blink’s upcoming album.

Aoki has previously confirmed he’s working with My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way for Neon Future III.

This isn’t the first foray into electronic music for Travis Barker, who had a long running history of collaboration with DJ AM before he passed. The drummer has also worked with Krewella, performed with Deorro and Run the Jewels at Coachella, and previously combined with Aoki to release a remix of Yelawolf.

This is the first time, though, that Hoppus and the Blink 182 moniker have been included when working with an electronic producer. The bassist and “What’s My Age Again” songsmith has been pursuing a new venture as a DJ, however.

There is still no word on when Neon Future III will be released.
