Ticketfly launches concert discovery app

Ticketfly, which was acquired by Pandora last year, has released a new app that will allow users to discover concerts and see curated events for Apple iOS. The app adds features from WillCall, an app acquired by Ticketfly that sold tickets to curated shows in New York City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

The app will allow users to search the 90,000 Ticketfly events each year. Added from WillCall is a series of curated events that are selected by Ticketfly for exciting artists and events. Users can store their billing information on the app for quick, two-tap ticket purchases and digital tickets will be available on the app itself. Notifications can also be set to inform users when their favorite artist’s tickets go on sale so they can get a jump on purchasing.

One notable deficiency, compared to competitors such as Songkick and Bandsintown, is the fact that Ticketfly only features events that it is directly selling tickets for and not the full spectrum of concerts on a given day. In the future, however, the app may support the inventories of other ticket providers.

The revamped Ticketfly app is available now in the Apple App Store.
