A$AP Ferg enlists Skrillex and Crystal Caines for ‘Hungry Ham’
Skrillex’s beaming track record in the hip-hop scene is often overlooked. As his collaborations stack up with acts like Rick Ross and Vic Mensa spitting over his beats, A$AP Ferg is the latest to join the ranks with new piece “Hungry Ham” from his upcoming LP. An ode to his block, a stretch of 143rd Street between Amsterdam and Broadway in Harlem, Ferg unloads his lyrical clips over one of Skrill’s most ambitious hip-hop arrangements yet.
Long-time fans and supporters of each other’s work, a Skrillex and A$AP Ferg collaboration was imminent. Skrillex laces together rubbery bass tones with wild, screeching siren effects. Working in howling sample cuts behind Crystal Caines’ mantra hook and A$AP’s iconic barking trap call, Skrillex drops an aggressive, bouncing beat on “Hungry Ham,” serving as the latest single from A$AP Ferg’s Always Strive And Prosper, due in full on April 22.
