Dusky release first single ‘Ingrid Is A Hybrid’ off forthcoming album

It’s been quite a long time since UK duo Dusky released their first (and only) studio album, Stick By This, back in 2011. While they’ve been consistently releasing EPs and singles over the years, there’s something undoubtedly special about an album release. Luckily, fans will not have to wait much longer, as the pair have put out the lead single from their forthcoming artist album, Outer.

“Ingrid Is A Hybrid,” as its known, is a departure from Dusky’s usual four-on-the-floor house and techno style, and even goes so far as to venture into a bit of a nu disco sound. An abstract intro and breakdown, both filled with robust, spacey synth layers and vocals, weave into a stirringly funky breakbeat rhythm with a distinct retro-future flavor.

Regarding the album, Dusky says the’ve “explored a lot of our wider tastes and influences.” New single “Ingrid Is A Hybrid” nails this point home with finesse. Along with the album, the veteran duo have conceived a new live show that will be debuted Saturday, April 16, at London’s Village Underground, which kicks off their 2016 world tour.

Tour dates and tickets can be found here.
