Insomniac may be closely associated with the pinnacle of EDM culture, but it’s worth remembering that Pasquale Rotella and crew got their start throwing proper underground parties in warehouse venues back in the ’90s. Their newest event series, Factory 93, is an ode to this era.

“I couldn’t be more excited to go back to my roots with Factory 93,” Rotella says. “It’s a project the whole Insomniac crew is extremely passionate about.”

The first iteration of Factory 93 touches down in Los Angeles on May 21 at an undisclosed venue in Downtown. Hot Since 82 will headline the affair, hosting a Knee Deep in Sound takeover with Santé performing alongside Sidney Charles and special guest Doc Martin.

“I love playing in LA, there’s such an exciting buzz around new underground music,” Hot Since 82 says. “It’s an honor to host Knee Deep In Los Angeles at the opening of this new warehouse space downtown!”

Hot Since 82’s commentary further lends credence to the theory that Insomniac will be opening up its own new venue in Downtown for the new series. Details regarding the would-be space, however, have yet to be confirmed.
