Watch Bassnectar drop new original at Euphoria Fest
Over the last two decades, Bassnectar has delivered 11 albums, spanning a wide variety of styles from downtempo to breakbeat and dubstep. His latest creation is an ode to his timeless catalogue, showcasing some cosmic bass music that harkens back to classic tracks like “Laughter Crescendo” and “Impossible and Overwhelming.” Ashton unveiled the original for the first time at Euphoria Festival in Texas. “Here’s the first time I’ve played this track,” he said. “Made it this weekend.”
The nameless original blends sparking arpeggios with distorted synth riffs while pounding 808s rumble underneath. It’s a signature Bassnectar combination, and one that never fails to elicit a sense of awe and wonder. While Ashton has yet to confirm a new record for 2016, we wouldn’t be surprised to hear this one on his next project, whenever it may arrive.
