Bryan Black, better known as Black Asteroid, is preparing the launch of his new multi-faceted undertaking, Pitch Black. The imprint will serve as a platform for releases emulating his industrial sound in addition to showcasing his favorite designers of the moment in collaboration with each release. He chose his futuristic collaboration with Cold Cave, “Black Moon” as the first release along with a B-side, “Frantic.”

Nicole Moudaber’s sound has taken an increasingly dark and industrial direction lately — a quality that has led to her being recruited as Pitch Black’s first remixer. Her reinterpretation of “Black Moon” does not stray far from the original, maintaining most of the original elements while adding a pounding kick and extra percussion signature of a Moudaber production. The vocals blend well in this setting, allowing “Black Moon” to stoop to an even more ominous level.
