Digitalism – Battlecry (Com Truise Remix)

In March, pioneering German outfit Digitalism enraptured fans by announcing a May release date for their tertiary album, Mirage. Alongside the announcement, bandmates Jence and Isi released three singles from the LP – “Utopia,” “The Ism,” and “Battlecry.” The lattermost of the three, “Battlecry,” is anthemic in nature, driven by melodically gritty synthesis and energetic vocals.

As Mirage’s May 13 release date draws nigh, Digitalism have further steepened anticipation by revealing an official “Battlecry” remix from the likes of Com Truise. Under his impish moniker, Seth Halsey has established a signature sound, by blending elements of synthpop with non-categorical experimentations to create a catalogue of pleasantly challenging music. Just as “Battlecry” is purely indicative of Digitalism’s core stylistic traits, Halsey’s remix is a perfect manifestation of his own. Halsey tempers the vivacity of the original production by transposing the vocals into a slower, calmer context, catalyzed by erratic percussion, mystically funky melodies, and deeply spacious reverb.
