Toronto’s Jahkoy has impacted R&B with original singles like “Odd Future” and the recent “Wine.” On the remix end, he’s enlisted various producers to flip his soulful vocals into danceable summer joints — Digital Farm Animals’ take on “Still In Love” being the most notable — and today, he’s done so once again.
This time it’s FAWKS on duty, attacking “Hold Your Hand” with an aggressive makeover. Allowing Jahkoy’s vocals to play with familiarity only for mere moments, the remix climaxes with elements from a distant world — taking no prisoners with thumping, bouncy bass, mimicking future house with big room appeal.
