Manila Killa – Youth feat. Satica (Original Mix)
Manila Killa first made a name for himself with remixes for artists such as The M Machine and by producing a cover of Caribou‘s hit “Can’t Do Without You” with French producer Kidswaste. Things really began to take off when the young producer’s debut single, “All That’s Left,” premiered in January 2016. This, of course, excludes his work with equally exciting side project Hotel Garuda, his collaborative project with Candle Weather.
Now the LA-based producer is looking to continue to grow his career by releasing his latest single “Youth,” a collaboration with vocalist Satica. A bouncy, percussive chord patch percolates under an atmospheric intro, before continuing while Satica’s effortless delivery floats above. The track initially builds to a false drop, ceding the forefront to Satica, who sings a catchy hook with an airy presence. This eventually gives way to a rising, exultant synth patch and percussive melodic lines, along with clever manipulation of Satica’s vocal samples, invoking a breezy vibe perfect for summer.
