The US and Europe are undeniably the largest hubs from which DJs and producers stem, and many labels have been looking outside the typical market. For example, Spinnin’ Records inked a deal with its first Chinese artist last summer. More recently, Ultra Records signed Mahmut Orhan, a Turkish producer with a keen sense for smooth melodic house, for his debut single on the label, “Feel.” Stepping up to the plate to take over this week’s The Radar, Orhan strings together an assortment of cuts full of Eastern strings, breezy percussion, and beachside instruments to yield a tranquil, hour-long mix that will take listeners to their paradise.
