Björk to perform the world’s first 360 VR stream

Icelandic sogstress Björk will perform “Quicksand” off her recent album Vulnicura in Tokyo on June 28, making history as the world’s first 360 degree virtual reality live stream.

The stream is part of an ongoing collaboration between the artist and the production team at Dentsu Lab Tokyo, and will be open to the public and running as part of the Björk digital exhibition opening at the Miraikan Museum Tokyo beginning June 29. The Miraikan is the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation.

In the live stream, Björk will wear a specially-designed ‘Rottlace’ mask, created using Stratasys 3D printing technology and designed by Professor Neri Oxman at MIT Media Lab and the Mediated Matter Group.

You can check out the stream here on June 28 12PM GMT / 8PM UTC.
