Calvin Harris – This Is What You Came For ft. Rihanna (Dillon Francis Remix)
As Calvin Harris continues to convalesce from his May car crash, the Scottish producer’s latest collaboration with Rihanna, “This Is What You Came For,” continues to dominate the charts worldwide. With megawatt star power between them, and the pair’s first collaboration in five years, it’s no surprise the track is a success.
To give the track even more momentum and prolonged life, Harris has employed star-in-his-own-right Dillon Francis — Harris having recently been featured on Francis’ latest EP — to breathe new life into the record.
Unsurprisingly, given Francis’ tendencies, his remix leans more heavily to the electronic scene than pop, transforming Harris’ original into a main stage-ready trap production. That’s not to say, however, that the track loses its hook; in fact, the remix maintains Rihanna’s verses over a subdued groove and chops her vocals for the drop’s slinky melodic content.
