Miami-based up-and-comer Alyx Ander has been making waves since he broke through with his most recent single, last year’s “Close Enough.” Now, the Radar alum has garnered the prestige to offer up his own spin on a classic.
With his flip of Delerium’s 1997 trance masterpiece, “Silence,” which featured vocals from Sarah McLachlan, Alyx Ander joins the likes of Tiesto, and Above and Beyond, who have both famously reworked the track. Ander makes his version stand out with a punchy, bright house beat that grooves steadily through the track’s nearly six-minute runtime. McLachlan’s serene vocals hover over the four-on-the-floor beat before building into a euphoric drop full of shimmering chords and melodic vocal chops.
