The internet made ‘The Simpsons’ into their own music genre

Sometimes the most random combinations end up making a winning finished product. Such is the case with Simpsonwave, the newest audiovisual “genre” of electronic music pioneered by a creative Vine user during October last year when he paired “Resonance” by HOME with a clip from The Simpsons.

Fellow Vine users appreciated the use of tripped-out chill and vaporwave tracks set to various pieces of Simpsons episodes, catalyzing a movement that inspired large amounts of people to create their own extended editions. The movement has now expanded to the point of virility, and thus we’re given yet another interesting (and likely short-lived) new category to add to electronic music’s growing collection,
