In Jon Hopkins‘ dormant times, he is like a sleeping giant. The legendary producer has released an expansive catalogue of music over the last two decades, but has been relatively quiet since the release of his last EP, Asleep Versions, in 2014. However, when he awakens, Hopkins stirs a beautiful commotion, as fans saw with his sole 2015 release — a remix of Disclosure’s “Magnets” that delved into a majestically mesmerizing realm which far surpassed the musical magnitude of the original track. Hopkins’ live show is also a thing of beauty.
Recently, when pressed by a fan on Twitter for performing sparingly in Northern California, Hopkins revealed some exciting news for fans in 2017, divulging information of a forthcoming tour and full album.
Hopkins’ last LP, the immaculate Immunity, was released in 2013; while Hopkins’ announcement of his first studio album after a four year lapse has been understated, it is certainly of great significance.
