Stephen – Crossfire (SummitScape Remix)

To the many fans and music writers who’ve been rooting for Texas duo SummitScape as one of this year’s artists to watch, news of the outfit’s disintegration may come as a surprise. While the act has not yet revealed the reason behind the split-up, they did drop their last release together: a remix of Stephen’s “Crossfire.” It’s a fittingly melancholy (and unsurprisingly gorgeous) downtempo spin that’s almost cinematic with its drawn-out bass progressions and atmospheric build-ups. Moving, intense, and emotion-driven, it’s a dramatic farewell that’s sure to have fans mourning the end of this promising act.
