Tiësto announces 6-hour set at Amsterdam Dance Event

2016 appears to be the year where Tiësto is re-vamping his career. While he remains staunchly within the commercial house category, the Dutch veteran has undertaken an expansion of sorts in his sound, recently announcing his new imprint AFTR:HRS which kicked off his foray into the mellow, deeper side of house. He further ventured down this path through his collaboration with John Legend, “Summer Nights.”

In addition to prior developments, it has now been revealed that Tiësto will be returning to his roots (in a sense) in October during this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event. He posted on Facebook recently about the 500th episode of ClubLife this October, which will happen concurrently with the 2016 edition of Amsterdam Music Festival: “If you thought AMF 2015 was epic, get ready for my 6-hour set at‪ #‎ClubLife500 this year!”

It’s been quite awhile since we’ve heard an extended set of this length from the superstar; not since his trance days roughly a decade ago, in fact. Curiosity abounds as to what he’ll play, as few DJs aligned similarly in the commercial space have ventured the extended set route. That said, there is no denying his skill as a DJ after over two decades as a reigning force in EDM, and there’s a significant chance fans are in for a well-crafted set.
