Zeds Dead return to Diplo & Friends for new mix
For the third year in a row, Zeds Dead have returned to the decks of Diplo & Friends. After a brief recap of their career from Diplo, the Canadian duo deliver an eclectic mix covering the wide range of genres that they have branched off to since getting their start in the Toronto dubstep scene.
Opening with their remix of Omar Linx’s “Red Light Green Light,” this latest mix also highlights Zeds Dead’s disparate tastes and willingness to subvert what many would expect from them. Their mashup of “Shaking All Over” and “Right Here” from Johnny Kid and the Pirates and Billy Kenny, respectively, is a delicious curveball that is somehow equally at home with tracks from newcomers like Rezz, KRNE, and Sober Rob and established titans such as Flume and Kanye West. Most enticingly, however, the producers end their set with new ID.
