deadmau5 to launch his virtual reality game with DJ set in New York

Deadmau5 recently announced his partnership with vodka giant Absolut for his virtual reality video game. The interactive game, titled Absolut deadmau5, allows players to join the DJ/producer in his virtual world as he races towards a show.

Spearheaded by Absolut Labs, the video game serves as an extension of the brand’s Absolut Nights campaign, which is to “redefine and re-imagine nightlife.” Available beginning July 27, Absolut deadmau5 will be available for download on iOS, Android, and Samsung platforms. A Limited Edition Absolut deadmau5 VR cardboard headset is available for pre-order now for $15.

To commemorate the launch, deadmau5 will play a DJ set at Flash Factory in New York the same day the app is released. Tickets for the one-night event on July 27 are on sale now, starting at $60. The show marks deadmau5’s only scheduled appearance in New York City for 2016.
