26-year-old dies after collapsing at Creamfields Festival
A 26-year-old Creamfields attendee has died after collapsing at the festival’s campsite around midnight on Saturday. The UK festival giant, which drew in nearly 70,000 fans for its 11th year, has yet to make an official statement regarding the death.
While a cause of death hasn’t been revealed, officials have been quick to remind festivalgoers to have fun safely, and that Creamfields has zero tolerance for drug use and possession. Six people were arrested on the festival’s opening day for allegedly possessing class A drugs with intent to sell, while two other males were arrested for attempting to smuggle over 100 ecstasy tablets into the event.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police commented, “Officers continue to take positive action against those who risk others’ lives by attempting to bring illegal drugs onto site. The Constabulary wants to remind people that drug supply at Creamfields will not be tolerated, and officers will take robust action where necessary.”
