Empire of the Sun release two singles from their upcoming LP, ‘High and Low’ and the title track ‘Two Vines’

After a prolonged period of teasing, Empire of the Sun set their fans into a tizzy by announcing the release date of their upcoming album Two Vines. The 15-track album, inspired by an “image of a modern city overtaken by jungle, almost like mother nature taking back the planet,” will be the Australian duo’s third and will feature numerous other artists, including Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham and members from the late Prince and David Bowie‘s respective backing bands.

Lest fans be concerned an influx of outside musicians would significantly alter the band’s singular sound — and look — these two singles should put those fears to rest. The group’s soaring, layered vocals still feature prominently over ebullient productions featuring rapturous synths and live guitars. Both tracks also opt for a more laid back feel, allowing each to breathe and not rush to its conclusion.

Two Vines will be released October 28.
