Flume announces forthcoming ‘Skin Companion’ EP; listen to a preview

Despite reaching bonafide superstar status with the success of his sophomore album Skin, Flume remains humble as ever, thankful to the fans and collaborators which helped him reach his current spot. The Australian wunderkind recently announced another exciting development sparked by his gratitude: new music on the way.

“I wanted to share some more music that was written around the same time [as Skin],” wrote Flume. This November will see the release of the first Skin Companion EP. The EP will drop exclusively on vinyl according to the announcement, and will be sold at a variety of famed indie record shops across the globe. Even more exciting about this announcement is the key word of the post: “first,” which implies there will be more unreleased tracks from that time surfacing in the (hopefully) near future.

Aside from pushing out newer music, Flume is already beginning to plan his third album. He stated in a recent interview that his third album will be more sample-based. In the meantime, you can still catch him live on his Skin world tour.

Listen to a preview of Flume’s Skin Companion EP below:

“I’ve been overwhelmed by the support you guys have shown for Skin over the past few months and I wanted to share some more music that was written around the same time.

The first Skin Companion EP is a 12″ of songs we are releasing in November. It will be available on vinyl at lots of great indie record stores around the world – Rough Trade, Phonica, Turntable Lab, Oye, Amoeba, Juno, Boomkat, Red Eye and many more.” – Flume
