deadmau5’s new album may arrive in November; listen to two suspected album tracks

For the last month, the most eagerly anticipated deadmau5 release has been the mau5trap100 EP, which will feature a series of official “Strobe” remixes from the likes of Feed Me, Lane 8, and deadmau5 himself. While mau5trap100‘s September 23 release date is imminent, it seems that Joel Zimmerman has something even more substantial looming on the horizon shortly afterward: the eighth deadmau5 studio album.

While on vacation in Bali, Zimmerman entertained fans’ questions in a two and a half hour live stream via Periscope. Midway through the stream, his tour manager, Chris Costello, fields a series of questions. At an hour and 43 minutes into the stream, a fan asks Costello when the next deadmau5 album is due for release, to which she responds “November,” though an offscreen Zimmerman mutters, “or whenever it’s done,” directly after her response. Though there is no concrete release date currently set for the next deadmau5 LP, it clearly is nearing the stages of its completion.

Watch the full Periscope stream here, and listen to two suspected album tracks below which deadmau5 has been playing at recent shows.
