Justice share new single ‘RANDY’; album confirmed for November release

It’s a great day to be a Justice fan. Not only did we receive a brand new single, but the group confirmed that their third album, WOMAN, will be officially released in mid-November.

Annie Mac had the honors of premiering the new track, “RANDY,” which she subsequently named her ‘Hottest Record in the World.’ The song is a charming summer jam, relentlessly infectious thanks to the vocal contributions of Morgan Phalen, who previously sang on two tracks from Justice’s Audio, Video, Disco. Like previous single “Safe and Sound,” the song features live orchestra accompaniment. The result is an instant indie dance classic — a record we’ll have on repeat for months to come.

Annie Mac caught up with Xavier de Rosnay — one half of Justice — to get some insight on the new album. In regards to the new track, Xavier says: “‘RANDY’ started as an industrial techno track but we were in such a good mood that day that we ended up making it joyful, uplifting — as if you’re in the car with your best friends, your lovers, your kids, in the summer. that’s a bit of the feeling of the whole record I guess.” In regards to the album direction, he further added: “the general mood was to make a very welcoming record.”

Aside from confirming a November release date, Xavier also mentions a new live show in the works. “We’re stopping right now to work on the live shows,” he says, before adding that they’re hoping to start playing the live show out in 2017.

Listen to “RANDY” below. Justice’s new album is set to drop Mid-November. Both Wikipedia and Amazon list the date as November 18, though the precise date has yet to be confirmed by the band.
