Diplo and RiFF RAFF reunite on ‘ViBE’ with DJ Afterthought

Back in 2012, Diplo signed the nonsensical amateur rapper RiFF RAFF to his Mad Decent label, and even produced a few tracks for his debut album, Neon Icon. The two then worked together on “Doctor Pepper,” and now have reunited for another earworm, appropriately titled “ViBE.”

The relaxed record is the second single off BALLOWEEN, RiFF RAFF’s forthcoming album. Featuring DJ Afterthought, “ViBE” is a mellow rap-rock anthem that doesn’t sound quite like Diplo’s usual style — but considering that the man has produced everything from rap to rock to pop, it’s apparent that his music doesn’t follow a certain format, but rather a formula for radio success.

RiFF RAFF’s BALLOWEEN, out October 20, will also feature a track produced by Mr. Oizo titled “Sold The House.”
