New nightclub Schimanski rumored to move into space vacated by Verboten
A new New York City nightclub called Schimanski is set to fill the space left vacant by Verboten‘s departure very soon, according to posters that have been spotted on the streets of Brooklyn.
The building at 54 N 11th St. has been empty since March 2016, when the property was seized by the the state due to $360,000 of unpaid sales tax. In July 2016, news that Pacha NYC’s former owner Eddie Dean had purchased Verboten sent the rumor mill into overdrive, and the club-savvypublic has eagerly awaited updates about the space ever since.
According to the spotted posters, Schimanski will help to fill the hole in New York’s underground dance music scene left by Verboten’s closing. Information on the club’s website suggests a November 2016 opening, but no date is confirmed.
Check out the poster below, listing what could be a lineup for the club’s opening event: Radio Slave, wAFF, Breakbot, Edu Imbernon, Lauren Lane, Eli & Fur, Tiger & Woods, Mat.Joe, Jon Charnis, Monoloc, Jacques Renault, Delta Functionen, Volvox, Paul Raffaelle, Sascha Dive and Veronica Vasicka.
