Check out this list of every artist rumored to play Coachella 2017

Because of Coachella‘s massive popularity and consistently diverse lineups, the festival engenders more fervent anticipation than any other concert event in the country every year. Goldenvoice traditionally provides the official lineup in January, three months before the event’s annual April run. Given the festival’s widespread appeal, the internet is abuzz with lineup rumors in the months leading up to the annual January announcement.

While the majority of rumored Coachella lineups are largely unsubstantiated (or elaborate Daft Punk trolls), some rumors do hold a degree of credibility. TravelGrom, a budget-focused travel information website, purports to be the most accurate oracle of future Coachella lineups. It goes without saying that any rumored lineup should be viewed with a healthy dose of pragmatic skepticism, but TravelGrom‘s track record and methodology have endowed them with perhaps more credibility than any competing prophets.

In their article predicting the lineup for Coachella 2017, the website cites their success rate from 2016 forecasts, and outlines their analytical process:

“Last year we predicted 140 acts at Coachella, and 90 were on the official Coachella lineup, meaning we were 64% accurate. In other words, more than half of the bands that you see listed below will likely be on the Coachella 2017 Lineup.

How do we do it? We analyze hundreds of band’s tour dates, monitor the booking sheet for Goldenvoice-owned venues, get random tips and emails from industry insiders, scour the Coachella forums and look for clues that the bands tweet or make public in magazine interviews.”

The website also includes a submission form on their website to solicit tips from outside sources.

Travelgrom begins their list with a selection of artists which “have been confirmed in one way or another,” providing a written explanation of each “confirmed” artist before delving into their full lineup forecast. Among the website’s allegedly confirmed acts, headliners, and undercard acts are Justice, Radiohead, The xx, Beyonce, and Metallica. The Shins, Frank Ocean, Alt-J, DJ Khaled, Bastille, and Niles Rodgers and Chic also fall into this segment of the article.

While the above acts are largely detached from the electronic music realm (with the obvious exception of Justice and The xx), a number of electronic artists appear throughout the full list of potential acts the website has provided. Aphex Twin, Boys Noize, Pretty Lights, James Blake, and Porter Robinson are among the most scintillating dance music acts predicted for this year’s lineup. From dance music’s more experimental sphere, TravelGrom lists predictions for Tycho, Flying Lotus, Nicolas Jaar, Floating Points, and Moderat.
