DA Premiere: ATTLAS – Blood Work
Canadian producer Jeff Hartford has firmly established himself as one of mau5trap‘s core members under the ATTLAS moniker. Since the deadmau5 protégé released his 5-track Bloom EP on the imprint in July, he’s continued to steadily appear on the label, with contributions to the fifth We Are Friends compilation and the offical “Strobe” remix EP.
“Blood Work,” Hartford’s first original single since Bloom, is a mesmerizing release which strongly reflects the producer’s central style. The song is driven by uniquely sonorous, intricately-woven percussive arrangements which lay the groundwork for a combination of beautifully contrasting elements.
ATTLAS’ synth-work ranges from mystical to ominous, with sporadically occurring airs of deadmau5. Chelsea Jade’s sultry vocals complete the song, adding a layer of mellifluous warmth to the sonically complex production. Stream “Blood Work” below.
