DA Premiere: Fritz Carlton – Skyscrapers

Self-described ‘weirdo house’ purveyor Fritz Carlton has been causing quite a stir in the West Coast underground. After signing to Desert Hearts back in April, the LA-based producer has gone on to deliver new material for Main Course and Audiophile XXL, in addition to performing up and down the coastline. Now Carlton joins Treasure Fingers’ esteemed Psycho Disco imprint with his new Teleport EP.

The B-side on the release is “Skyscrapers,” a chunky house cut full of the kind of disorienting sonic architecture that has become a staple of Fritz’s style. With its acid-tinged bassline and tripped-out vocal snippets, it’s a dizzying dancefloor weapon that is sure to be well received by house and techno heads alike.

Fritz Carlton said of his new EP: “These are two out-there, fun jams I wrote towards the end of the summer. They encompass a style that should make anyone move, but they definitely embody that eerie sensation that comes when the carefree days of summer come to an end. That weirdo darkness of winter is coming, but these tunes should keep you warm on the d-floor for a few months.”

Pre-order the Teleport EP here, and catch Fritz Carlton playing in Los Angeles on December 3 with Ciszak.
