Skrillex is bringing back his iconic Mothership for the first time in two years

For the world’s biggest DJs, pushing their craft beyond the traditional setup of CDJs and a mixer is crucial. Some of the greatest dance acts of all time are characterized by their live setups, from Justice‘s legendary cross, to deadmau5‘s famed cube, and of course, Daft Punk’s ever-elusive pyramid. One such stage setup that was just as groundbreaking was Skrillex’s iconic Mothership, which was decommissioned at the end of 2014 after an extensive touring bout.

Now however, Skrillex is reviving his spaceship one more time for a special headlining performance at ComplexCon. The life sized hydraulic, laser-equipped rocket ship made appearances at Red Rocks, Coachella, and Austin City Limits among other major festivals, and was even the subject of its own short documentary. Its return, with Skrillex at the helm, is bound to be a specatcle.

Skrillex is also hosting other interactive events at ComplexCon this weekend. Moore is teaming with Future Wife and contemporary Japanese artist Takashi Murakami to debut a collaborative, interactive art piece that transforms by touch with dynamic audio and visual programming. OWSLA‘s flourishing pop-up shop will also have its winter showcase at the festival, with Moore further serving as a featured speaker on the ComplexCon(versations) panel.
