The Chainsmokers tease next single on Snapchat

The Chainsmokers established themselves as bonafide hitmaking machines in 2016, reaching the tops of charts with each new single they released over the year and taking away two spots in Billboard’s Top 10 Streaming Songs of 2016 chart with “Don’t Let Me Down,” and “Closer.” It seems as though their ability to churn out crossover singles at a consistent pace will remain in place for 2017, as Drew Taggart has all but confirmed an incoming single from the pair on Snapchat.

A little over a week ago is when the first inking of the track was revealed in a 10 second clip. A brand new clip of the same length posted early in Monday morning shows Taggart in bed mouthing along with lyrics from a clip sharing the same melodic arrangement as the first post. Based off the sound of it, the song is nearing completion if it hasn’t been already. The yet-unnamed tune thus far indicates their usual winning formula of a guitar-leaning, downtempo dance background, foreshadowing another radio hit in the making. View the preview clip below.

Lyrics: “If we go down then we go down together, they’ll say you could do anything, they’ll say that I was clever.”
