Resident Advisor’s annual Top 100 DJs poll serves as a baratomer for the world of underground dance music. Dictated directly by user-submitted votes, it provides a generally accurate sense of fans’ tastes within the house and techno spectrum.
For the fourth year running, Dixon has championed the list at #1. The German DJ — known for both his spell-binding DJ sets and for helping run standout international imprint Innervisions — has had another landmark year, bringing his cerebral brand of music everywhere from the Givenchy Paris runway to the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix airwaves.
Dixon is followed by house and disco maven Jackmaster, who makes a bold leap to number 2 — no surprise given the fact that he’s played approximately 146 gigs this year. Meanwhile, Italian techno visionaries Tale of Us have held down their spot at number 3, with the inimitable Maceo Plex at number 4.
New entrants to the Top 20 include the likes of Carl Cox, The Black Madonna, Patrick Topping, Skream and Hunee.
