Richie Hawtin to debut new audio-visual performance at Movement

Techno icon Richie Hawtin has a flair for changing the performance spectrum with an impressive series of atypical show locations and avant-grade technological creations. In recent years, he’s played within Barcelona’s legendary market La Boqueria, inside a moving section of The London Eye, and notably, at a suave affair in New York’s Guggenheim where a flickering LED obelisk of his design towered over the crowd. Altogether, the Canadian music paragon has maintained his progressive status by building an enterprising lifestyle that masterfully mingles together grandeur and technology.

Staying true to his adeptness in both sound and design, Hawtin has announced a new audio-visual performance labeled CLOSE that will take place at this year’s Movement festival in Detroit. Details are light at the moment as to what exactly the DJ has in store for the festival’s Saturday crowd, but from what we’ve already seen from him in the past, it’s bound to be one of the weekend’s biggest occasions.
