Bonnaroo announces new dedicated dance music stage for 2017

Bonnaroo is throwing electronic music a big bone in 2017. The festival recently announced it will now host a fully-loaded festival stage rig dedicated to the lineup’s dance and hip-hop acts for this year’s event. The four-day music and art showcase revealed an increased focus on electronic music at this year’s festival with top-billed acts including The xx, Flume, and Major Lazer, and now Bonnaroo is making another dance music-leaning modification with the addition of “The Other” stage.

Formerly one of the festival’s three tent stages, “The Other” tent is now being upgraded into a full open-air festival stage, featuring an all-night slate of performances.  Claude Vonstroke will christen the inaugural stage as Barclay Crenshaw and CVS, along with D.R.A.M., Rezz, Big Gigantic, Marshmello, Unlike Pluto, Skepta and more.

A statement from the festival details the new move as, “pulling down the tent and cranking up the bass in this newly expanded stage & area dedicated exclusively to the best of dance, electronic and hip-hop. Dance your heart out all night at this fully loaded new stage, and experience mind-blowing visuals, earth-shattering bass, and the kind of late night sets that you’ll remember for years to come.”

Bonnaroo returns to its home at Great Stage Park in Manchester, Tennessee for the festival’s 16th edition, running June 8 – 11.
