Icon Spotlight: March
Icon Collective has solidified its reputation as the premier educational facility for electronic music production on the West Coast. The North Hollywood arts school has become a breeding ground for the next generation of talent, as evidenced by its formidable track record, which includes the likes of Jauz, MAKJ, Slander, SNBRN and more.
To spotlight some of the amazing talent coming out of the school, we’ve teamed up with Icon for a new series highlighting tracks from the past month from both current students and Icon graduates.
March signaled another prolific month from the Icon community, largely dominated by standout debuts from new artists. Icon grad Anakim for instance released his Lane 8-supported bomb, “Absolute Magnitude,” which also served as his first release. Meanwhile, new artist Rinzen joined mau5trap with his first-ever original “Renegade,” a dark blend of techno and progressive.
Icon’s famed collab series birthed new group ENTU, who won the collab project with their pristine Of Lemuria EP, including the cinematic title track. Limitless continued his streak of innovative originals with deep house gem “Glow,” featuring Monika & Tre Seoul, while Icon super trio Castor Troy, Cooda, and Boy Bishop linked up for a Super Best Friends Flip of Kayzo x Riot’s “Wake Up.”
