With a seemingly endless supply of hits and kudos from one of electronic music’s pioneering figures, it would be easy to forgive The Chainsmokers if they decided to ease off the electro gas pedal for a bit to make a foray into more commercial music. However, even with a new album looming, the duo show no signs of slowing down, and are continue to attract interesting talent to their “Nice Hair” mix series. For the program’s 32nd episode, the mysterious k?d provides the backend of the show, starting at approximately the 30-minute mark.

Befitting someone who burst on the scene by remixing — successfully — Daft Punk, k?d’s portion of the mix is diverse, thoughtful, and intriguing. His selections range from energetic, bright house to managing to include a Gesaffelstein cameo. It’s yet another step up from a producer who is poised to build on a highly successful 2016 heading into this year.
