S U R V I V E tease their direction for ‘Stranger Things’ season two

Acclaimed Sci-fi drama Stranger Things took the world by storm when it was first released in July 2016. With the release of the second season’s trailer earlier this year, the hype around the celebrated Netflix original series Halloween release date is at an all time high.

S U R V I V E, the group responsible for Stranger Things’ famous soundtrack and eerie background score recently spoke about their sonic goal for season two. In an interview with Vinyl Factory, the group revealed that “things are going to be a bit darker and weirder” as “they are going to spend a little more time in the Upside Down this season.”

Mostly known for their raw, pure, and heavily textured sound; the group also touched upon their production, musical influences and experimenting with their growing collection of modular synths. According to S U R V I V E member Michel Stein, “Our songs are very much a long, sculpted process of adding and subtracting. I would hope that sonically they have a texture or a tone that would make S U R V I V E sound different than a band that plays in a similar genre.”

The group stand to make themselves stick out even more with another strong showing for Stranger Things.
