Nicky Romero had a good 2016 – especially if the last couple of years are to be taken into consideration. Despite a noticeable increase of new releases on his Protocol Recordings label – a majority of which were received well by his fans- the Dutch producer has still been largely unable to recapture his scorching popularity of late 2012.
2017 got off to a decent start for Romero and Protocol, releasing their Miami 2017 compilation in advance of his Miami Music Week performance on March 10. In addition to this collection, the producer recently dropped a new edit of Trilane & Yaro’s “Miss Out.”
The song features melodious synths and an equally mellow beat drop, with vocalist Max Landry further adding to the soothing tone of the song. “Miss Out” may not be Nicky Romero’s best edit ever, but it’s definitely a solid track that could mark a resurgence for the producer.
