Dillon Francis taps G-Eazy for exuberant new collaboration ‘Say Less’

Ahead of his Coachella performance, Mad Decent poster boy and moombahton pioneer Dillon Francis has teamed up with rapper G-Eazy to release a boisterous hip-hop, trap collaboration. The track is the first official release from Francis’ own IDGAFOS record label.

Entitled “Say Less,” it’s, unsurprisingly, a track that should be played loudly on large speakers. With booming horns, erratic timbal percussion, and aggressive vocals, this track provides a great way to start the festivities before heading to the Empire Polo Club to watch Mr. Francis perform. As is typical in a Dillon Francis track, the production is clean and the frequencies are precisely tuned to perfection. Transposing G-Eazy’s vocals down a touch for a few bars gives them a milky and alluring atmosphere, complementing his provocative lyrics. A hip-hop collaboration like this is rare for Dillon Francis, and has possibly only occurred in the ludicrous rerelease of the DJ Snake collaboration “Get Low” featuring seemingly forced vocals from Rae Sremmurd. Given this is perhaps the first original hip-hop track the Los Angeles producer has put out, Dillon Francis did an impressive job. “Say Less” uniquely channels Dillon and G-Eazy’s insanity into a flawlessly executed teaser before a hotly anticipated Coachella performance.
