Maverick melds R&B and soul with lush electronic soundscapes to create a sound that is simultaneously fresh yet anachronistic.
The Belgian producer’s latest single is “I Know,” a tantalizing original composition which, in his own words, serves as “an abstract take on contemporary soul.” The song warps vague future bass sonics around a low-pitched sample vocal, channeled along a slow, seductive rhythm. The song is the first of many more releases to come from Maverick in 2017.
“I Know” further arrives with a behind-the-scenes video, titled ‘Introducing Mav,’ lending some backstory to Maverick’s creative process. Check it out alongside “I Know” below.
