Porter Robinson debuts new live edit of ‘Shelter’ [Video]
Tonight, April 23, Porter Robinson and Madeon will conclude a pivotal chapter of their careers with the final Shelter performance – a tour which held enough impact in the dance music realm and beyond that we ranked the prodigious pair in the number one spot on our Top 10 performers of 2016 list. How the two artists’ swan song will differ from their prestigious sunset slot on the Coachella main stage from last week remains to be seen, but it’s safe to assume they’ll bookend the tour with a remarkable farewell.
Last night, ahead of the momentous occasion, Porter Robinson performed a headlining Worlds live show at Dallas, Texas’ Something Wonderful festival. During the set, Robinson provided what appears to be a new live edit of “Shelter,” introducing new synths and structural elements and singing himself atop Madeon’s recognizable recorded vocals.
